Privacy Policy

DesiMap is a directory of Indian grocery stores in the United States. We try to collect as little information about you as we reasonably can.

What we collect

• Approximate location. When you visit, Cloudflare provides our server with your approximate location (city / latitude / longitude) derived from your IP address. We use it once, at request time, to show you nearby stores. We do not store it.
• Request logs. Standard server logs (IP, user agent, requested URL, timestamp) are retained by Cloudflare for security and abuse prevention.
• No accounts, no tracking pixels, no third-party analytics at this time.

Cookies we set

• Location cookie (optional).If you click "Use my exact location", we store your browser-reported latitude/longitude in a first-party cookie so we can show stores near you. Clear it any time by clearing your cookies.
• Admin session cookie. Only set for site administrators after they log in.

Bot protection

Form submissions ("Add a store", "Contact") are protected by Cloudflare Turnstile to filter automated spam. The Turnstile widget loads a small script from Cloudflare's domain and may collect technical signals (browser fingerprint, IP) to score whether you're a human. What we do not collect

• We do not use cookies for cross-site tracking.
• We do not sell or share data with advertisers.
• We do not embed Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or similar.

Maps

Map tiles are served by OpenFreeMap (no key required, public free service). Map data is from OpenStreetMap contributors under the ODbL license. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies.
